| FAQ: Recipient rejected by server.

If this entry in the Event Log is also near an entry indicating a negative response then the problem reported is most likely your Internet Service Provider is not allowing you to send to that recipient through their SMTP server.
ISPs have to protect themselves against unauthorized spammers sending mail through their servers to the Internet. If you are getting this error, your ISP is not recognizing you as a legitimate sender.
In the eXchange WALL administration program go to
eXchange WALL Configuration Outgoing Mail
In the Send Messsages Through ISP's Mail Server you will see 3 options under Server requires authentication :
Log on using
This is the most common way to authenticate you as a valid sender. Your ISP will provide you with a account name and password. Ususally this is the same account name and password used to log into any one of your Internet mail accounts. If your ISP uses this method of authentication, enable this option and fill in the account name and password fields.
Wait until logged into Internet Mail account before sending
Some ISPs require you to log into one of your Internet Mail accounts before sending any mail. Once logged in they verify your IP address and allow messages to be sent from that IP address for a period of time. If you ISP uses this method, enable this option.
Log on based on sender's Internet Mail Account settings
This is similar to the 'Log on using' method but the account name and password used to send each message is based on the sender's email address. The sender's address is looked up in the Internet Mail Accounts Section and the appropriate account name and password are used.
