FAQ: Can I configure and monitor eXchange WALL remotely?

Yes. Please follow these steps:
Step 1

eXchange WALL will not allow remote connections unless you set a user id and password.
To do so, from the main menu select:
File Administration Settings
Step 2

From the section view select:
eXchange WALL Monitoring Alerts
The line for category Admin indicates which port eXchange WALL is listening on for connections
from the administration program. Make note of this port number (in this example the port number is 4005).
Step 3

On the remote computer create a folder (eg. C:\RemoteAdmin).
From the eXchange WALL installation folder copy KADMIN.EXE, KX.INI and the folder HELP (including all its files and subfolders)to the remote computer's new folder (eg. C:\RemoteAdmin).
Step 4

From the remote computer run KADMIN.EXE.
The following dialog will appear.

| IP address... | Enter the TCP name or IP address of the computer running eXchange WALL. |
|
| Administration port | Enter the port number noted earlier in Step 2. |
|
Click the Connect button and the following dialog will appear:

| User | Enter user id you set in Step 1. |
|
| Password | Enter password you set in Step 1 |
|
Click the Login button.
