FAQ: How to Setup Virus Scanning with Trend Micro (Server)

Any version of Trend Micro that has a Real-Time Scan feature is
compatible with eXchange WALL.
General Instructions

The following steps are general for configuring any virus scanner to work with eXchange WALL.
If a particular step is not possible on your virus scanner, skip the step.
Step 1
Within your virus scanner, turn on automatic scanning of inbound files (ie. files written to hard drive).
Step 2
Within your virus scanner, any option selected on how to handle infected files should operate automatically without user intervention (no pop-up
messages or dialogs should occur).
Step 3
You scanner should only scan the SCAN subfolder of the eXchange WALL installation. The other folders and most
importantly the DATA subfolder and all the folders under it should NOT be scanned.
Step 4
Enable virus scanning in eXchange WALL.
While running eXchange WALL Administration program select:
eXchange WALL Configuration Virus Scanning
and enable virus scanning. See eXchange WALL Help for information on virus scanning options.
Example using Trend Micro Server

Open the Trend Micro ServerProtect Management Console.
Select Set Scan Option.
Ensure Enable real-time scanning is selected.
Under Scan Direction, ensure Incoming or Incoming & Outgoing is selected.
Click Set Action button.
Set options as shown above.
Click Apply.
Click Apply again.
Select Exclusion List.
Click the Add button and add the MDB folder and all its subfolders under the eXchange WALL installation folder.
(eg. C:\Program Files\eXchange WALL\MDB )
